Some have wondered how I make the T.V. screen effect.
It's really not so hard if you have Adobe Photoshop.
![]() First select the area where the screen needs to be. Feather the selection a couple of pixels. Then select the blend tool, 40% grey in the foreground and around 70% or 80% in the background. Radial blend. Start in the upper left a little ways away from the corner and pull down to the lower right corner not quite all the way. This, basically is your screen. |
Take your picture and paste it into the same area, but on another layer. |
Place a lens flare about where you started the blend for the screen. |
![]() When you place it in the box, stroke the selection a couple of pixels to give it some depth. |
![]() Set the picture layer to "overlay". This will combine the two making the picture look like it is slightly convex, just like a t.v. screen. To heighten the effect and to better fit the round blend into the square box, Us the airbrush to lightly put highlights just along the top and left edges of the picture and shadows just along the bottom and right edges. |
That's pretty much it. You'll want to play around with the blend and airbrushing the highlights and shadows to get just the effect you want. To also increase the effect, try using the sphere effect under the distort filter on the picture. |
